Weeks passed by and somehow there are only 10 days left before my plane leaves the airport. In August I was mostly enjoying freetime, going on holidays and just living day by day. Last sunday I began to organise the last things I will need for my year abroad. Medical insurance, phone contract,

getting an international drivers license, tidying up all my things strawn through the whole house and meeting friends to say goodbye. While being with friends and knowing I won’t see them for a year made me realise how much time has passed and that my adventure is in the near future. So in the last few days I got to really check that I can now count the days left in Austria on two hands.

Now I am looking forward to meet some more friends, check my travel and medical insurance, pack my suitcase, say goodbye and take off.

A german singer and songwriter once sang: “You have to leave to see someone again” and that’s excactely what I am doing: Leaving to come home again!

Der Countdown läuft

Der Sommer geht zu Ende und so rückt auch mein Abflug in die nahe Zukunft. Nur noch 10 Tage – an zwei Händen abzählbar. Urlaub, Freizeit, einfach einen Tag nach dem anderen erleben – das war mein August. Vergangenen Sonntag begannen nochmal die letzen Vorbereitungen: Versicherung, Handyvertrag, internationaler Führerschein, all “meine” Ecken verteilt im ganzen Haus aufräumen und Freunde treffen. Als mir dann klar wurde, dass ich vielen dieser Freunde für ein Jahr “Auf Wiedersehen” gesagt habe, konnte ich erst Stück für Stück realisieren, dass es nun wirklich nicht mehr lange dauert bis zu meinem Abflug. Gespannt freu ich mich nun noch mehr Freunde zu treffen, meine Versicherung endgültig abzuschließen, meinen Koffer zu packen, auf Wiedersehen zu sagen und abzuheben.

Ein deutscher Sänger trifft meinen Abschied genau auf den Punkt. Er singt, dass wir uns erst trennen müssen um uns wiedersehen zu können. Das ist es – ich gehe um wieder nach Hause zu kommen!
