Me, myself and I

Well, hi again to everyone! You may wonder why I started a blog … well I have (and will hopefully have) many travel adventures and want to easily share them with family and friends. I think this is a great way to follow my journey without missing out on something.

So I’ve filled this page with lots of Australian Adventures, which you can find within the section “recent adventures abroad”. I lived in Australia from the 20th of September 2019 until December 1st, 2020 and I am forever grateful for that experience. In the most recent blog posts I tell you stories about my life as an Aupair in Switzerland. Have fun clicking through them! But now I want to introduce myself: 1999 I was born in a small village in Austria. I grew up on a small organic farm in the most southern part of Austria. I have three brothers and am very happy about that. I had the privilege to grow up multilingual by speaking the slovenian dialect with my dad and german with my mother. As kid I enjoyed to play outsidee as much as possible. There was ten kids getting up to whatever fun stuff we had in mind. I am very happy that I can still call all of them good friends and partners in crime. After the first eight years of going to school I started at the College for early childhood pedagogy (in Austria known as BAfEP) and happily graduated in June 2019. Now I can call myself a trained nursery school teacher. My experience with living abroad started when I was an au pair for the first time in northern Germany during my schoolholidays in summer 2017. Next up was an experience in Ireland on my summer break 2018. After graudation I went back to my first hostfamily and stayed with them for another few weeks all the while we welcomed the fifth child to the family. All of that led me up to my dream of a gap year abroad in Australia, were I lived within four different homes from sept 2019 until dec 2020. Since my first attempt to study midwifery failed and I didn’t get into uni that year I worked on a mountain hut/family run farm business for three months before I took off to Switzerland for yet another adventure abroad. I call myself a courageous, empathic, curious and explorative woman, whereas I may be a bit coutious and insecure meeting new people (before I warm up and love it). I enjoy traveling and living in various homes and explore different lifestyles authentically. My passions range from cooking and baking, to spending time in nature (hiking, walking, sunbathing etc.) as well as spending time with kids. You can also find me curled up on the couch once a good book catches my interested and I won’t put it down before I read the last page. Music and theatre is also part of my life: being part of an incredible theatre group, playing the harp and guitar, singing in a band. Hit me up if there is anything else you wanna know about me!
